James Taylor and Frank Sinatra both sing the song more-or-less like it should be sung. Ella Fitzgerald sings the right lyrics, but jazzes it up to the point where the poignancy is lost.

I may very well need therapy.

LAWL - I stopped from pulling the trigger on the Aimee Mann Christmas disc for this very reason: Yuletide Depression at it's finest (I <3 Aimee Mann, but she's such a damn downer at times!)

Another tempting choice.

This is a compilation from an old label called Crepucule or something like that. Believe they were spun off from Factory Records. A few of the songs are on Youtube if you wanna check em out.

ech - I was just spinning through Amazon.com to see what was popular and, man, WTF is it about Christmas music that inspires every American Idol contestant, every one-hit-wonder, and every jazz singer to release and re-release the same stuff year after year after year? I can't imagine spinning one disc after another and still keeping my sanity.

If you were to pitch a Bob Dylan Christmas album to me, that cover would be about the last one I'd imagine for him.

I <3 Bob Dylan, but his voice makes my son run to his room and hide under the blankets.

Presumably he wants this one to sell. Can you imagine Bob Dylan in a Santa Suit and fake white beard?
