I am a J.Crew card holder. Last week I got an email saying I could get 30% off any one order, online only, and including free shipping. As usual, the deal excluded third-party merchandise.

On a fluke, I figured I'd try using that 30% discount on the Indy boots- and lo and behold, it worked.

Instead of $450, they cost $315 plus $20 tax and free shipping. I saved $153. Great deal, since Alden shoes are never on sale, anywhere.

If you are a card holder and got a similar email, give it a shot (I didn't test to see if their other third-party stuff, like the Barbour, Baracuda, Redwing, etc. could be discounted).

True. They're gone.
Some people reported the same discount on Aldens during the last sale, but they were pulled off the site the second day.
