wish you'd just work on your fit too. this is jacket is a little too long and not well shaped.

thanks C - its particularly evident when the scarf covers the tie. I figured the tie provides a little contrast, but that is one of the reasons this suit doesnt get a lot of wear ... too close to my natural color.

Its doable. Doesnt come overnight - but i think studying people like oldog and opening up to various color choices makes it possible.

It is Sartoria Partenopea. The armholes don't feel tight, and don't always bunch around the pit like that. Of course, they did it in the pic. Never fails. This is why I prefer to take the pics inside, with the mirror behind the camera. I can see the screen and what is going to be shot, and make corrections. Outside, it is a crap shoot, but the light is superior.

Disagree - this is the best I think I've seen Mike look - proportions are nice.

Yes, exactly so. Personally, I've learned the hard way that much as I like charcoal grey, it does me no favours, esp. compared to navy. It's not awful, more neutral, but navy works much better for a sober colour, and light grey for less serious items. I have the same problem with some "soft-tone" colours eg a sage-green shirt I have that really doesn't work against my skin colour. Oh well...

Ah, that makes sense. Yes, a good compromise.
That coat is killer, just killer.
Thanks!

Thanks! It's certainly been cold enough to justify wearing it quite a bit recently!

Thanks! That means a lot to me, since your fist are always spot on.

Mike

p.s. since I have worn this for the last few hours it has started to relax. That bunching around the armholes is totally gone. Brand new suit and in a very light and soft flannel...I expect it to improve.

That is true...but I just don't see color like he does. And, his abilities to put patterns together without it coming out like a trainwreck just amazes me. I have come a long way through observation, suggestions and trial and error...but I am a greenhorn. The dude is a master.

This looks great, Mike. I think it's my favorite of all your posts. The subtle pattern combining is excellent. Enjoy the new suit.

Yes, it is. It is so comfortable...like wearing PJs.

Based on this one, I ordered another one.

Still, it is going back for tweaks. There is still a little pull which is being caused by button position. On the next one, he will not be permitted to move the buttons. I regret allowing that "fix."
