Shoe Damage (or how long it takes Alden to respond to an email.)

I have a pair of Alden Indy's and a pair of Allen Edmond's that need repairs as the stitching has come loose. (pics are below)

I have a guy that I go to but I've only used him to have topys and toe taps installed.

Is this a pretty standard repair for any average cobbler to make or do I need to find some one that is very good?

Send them back to Alden, complain online if they do not send you new boots.

I use a shoe horn every time. I wore them about 10 times before this happened. They are AE seconds.

They are Aldens for JCrew. Will Alden deal with me or do I need to go to JCrew?

I seldom use shoe horns and I've never had that happen to a pair of shoes. Even cheap, non SF approved ones.

Well, I sent an email to Alden with a picture of the boots. It's been 24 hours and I have not heard anything yet. Not even an email acknowledging that they received my email.

Maybe I'm used to instant responses when it comes to email as I have a BlackBerry and pretty much respond instantly to any email. I get customers who get upset when it takes me longer then an hour to respond to an email.

I'm curious to see how long it will take Alden's world famous customer service to respond to me.

aha! AE SECONDS... of course of course, well that explains everything! I'll bet this would have never happened with firsties.

I'm just kidding, I own plenty of seconds. You've had them 10 years, some stitching coming undone doesn't seem unreasonable to me.
edit - oops, I was quoting ter1413

Why don't you email the store you bought it from rather than Alden itself?
