The Laphroaig was serious ****, tbh; I barely remember the Bowmore and I drank it afterwards - and I love Bowmores. A lot more dressed up and sophisticated than what you'd expect from a Laphroaig. A bargain at the bar as well, not much more than QC or CS.

Drew, I can't really tell, but the Scotch that gets imported into Korea... are they 750ml or 70cl?

Cool, impolyte.

I missed a train and hit the local to wait on the next. Had an always-decent Jamieson 12, an awful Scotch egg, and even more awful Fish/Chips. Ugh.

Sitting in a neat little bar in a 100 year old hotel enjoying a post-dinner Buffalo Trace. Had a Balvenie Double Wood earlier.

It's our first time checking this place out since a change in ownership and it definitely won't be the last.

Official bottlings are usually 70cL, but I don't know the reason for it. Some other spirits get through in 750mL, like crown and Maker's Mark, JD, etc. A lot of beers come in 330mL's as well.

Sam Adams Boston Lager. On sale, since the notched date on them was Nov 2010.

O'Dell's Isolation Ale... so good.

I drank Jameson the whole time I was backpacking last week. It never tasted so damn good.

A holiday inspired concoction that's basically a variation on the old fashioned. 3 oz of Brandy (nothing too exciting here, just E&J XO), A couple thin apple slices, cherry, 2 dashes bitters and caramel dip (which is a pain to dissolve just by stirring) to stand in for the simple syrup as the sweetener.

Pretty good actually. Angostura bitters with the clove and nutmeg play nicely with the mixture, though I would use less if I made it again.
