I'm in the same boat Unc. Have you started a specialty thread for this yet? I would support it.
I think many of us are searching for foul weather boots but are unwilling to sacrifice our dignity.
I'm looking for something less hara-juju than you, but a thread to aggregate this would be good...

As I've expressed before, I'm looking for the same thing. We recently had snow and I found my DBSS pony hair hi tops worked very well-- warm, dry, and good traction. However, it was super cold out and there was almost no slush. I would be afraid to wear them in wet/dirty slush if it were very deep.

I'm looking for something that I can destroy and then bronze come spring, adding a commemorative plaque reading "A/W 2010"

I've been wearing (in my recent waywt actually) an old pair of military combat boots as beaters for the slush/snow. They'll do for the time being as I want to find something nicer.
