That's exactly what I am afraid of. The pants are made by Brunello Cucinelli (bought on the forum here), I didn't want anything horrible to happen even though it is just a plain hem. Perhaps I worried too much.

I'm pretty sure my coworker paid $11 for pants to be re-hemmed at Magic Tailor.

Or so you would think.
Except the one time I had pants hemmed and they guy did it purely by hand (which I never asked for) and a bit in a heavy-handed fashion, meaning the stitching showed (irregularly) on the outside.

Does anyone have a number for Parviz's successor, Ali?

He does very good work. A friend of mine has already tried him out several times for suit alterations (jacket & pants cuffs & jacket length shortening). Having seen my friends' beautifully altered suits, I intend on giving Ali a try in the near future & will show you 'before & after' pics when the time comes.

He gets things done quickly and does a good job, and the prices are fair. I don't know as much about minute details as other people on this forum, but as far as my eye can tell the quality is good.

Old thread but... Got a few items back from Antonio at Bay and Bloor, just a simple hem on some pants, darts and sleeve shortening on a shirt, and shortening the sleeves and taking in the chest on a SC. Everything looks great! He was really helpful and has a really good eye.

I also brought in a suit when I went to pick up my clothes today. He's re-hemming and slimming the legs and seat on the pants and we're taking in the chest on the jacket slightly. I'll likely post the results in WAYWT the Monday after next.

I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to any of my friends.

Zara at Woodbine Cleaners on Woodbine and Highway 7 in Marham. She can work magic. She works only 3 days a week, there. Zara is the only tailor who is authorized to work on exclusive designer and bespoke suits for the Bespokeman. She worked in Switzerland for many years doing coats and specialty gloves. Very fine needle work. Le Firme calls her in to do special alterations on their Italian designer suits and any finishing on their bespoke and custom. Her work is excellent! You have to ask for her, exclusively.

Please post the results of your jacket alteration in this thread too (so I don't miss it); I've got one that needs the chest taken in and so far I've been too afraid to actually go out and get it done.

So Antonio shortened the sleeves, took the chest in a little bit, and slimmed and shortened the pants. I'm particularly happy with the slimming of the pants, as they were quite baggy. I think it was just enough to be a little more flattering and modern, but still appropriate to the fact that the pants are pleated. I think the drape is quite nice as well.

Tough to shoot navy. Bumped up the shadows so it would actually show up. Colour/brightness not representative.

Did a search but most of the results were a bit dated.

Need to get a few shirts slimmed (taken in at the waist, narrower sleeves etc), so looking for some recommendations for tailors that can do that for a good price.

Preferrably located downtown Toronto or North York. If you have an idea on the price per shirt, that would be greatly appreciated as well.
