What are the advantages of these 3 fabrics: 160 thread count *VS* 80 thread count X 2 Ply *VS* 40 thread count X 4 Ply?
I would think that the 40 thread count X 4 ply would be the highest quality, since al fabric fineness/thickness has a statistical variance associated with it. By bunching up 2 plys of fabric, as in the 80 TC X 2 ply, the standard deviation of the fabric would decrease by 29.3% (= 1-.5^.5). The standard deviation of the thickness in the 3rd fabric would be 50% less than the first 160 thread count fabric (=1-.25^.5).
