wrinkle on suit after dry clean

Dry cleaned this particular suit for the first time and noticed that there is 2 wrinkles right near the button. My question is whether this can easily be fixed with an iron or this this more complex and the problem exists because the way the suit is built. Possibly a layer underneath can be creating the wrinkle. Thanks in advance.

Btw its much worse than the picture looks.

Is this a fused suit?

Not sure, I tried the pinch test but couldn't tell for sure. It was made MTM in NYC.

That's a hand-made buttonhole so probably full canvas, which is not really relevant. The cleaner probably closed the utility press on the button which left a mark. Not hard to remove with an iron and a press cloth.

I agree with Jeffery. The garment has been machine pressed and at high pressure to boot. That pressure has forced the button to "burrow" into the underlying fabric. Absolute heresy, especially when you consider that it's a MTM garment on it's first visit to the dry cleaner.

Here are a couple of points to consider....

1. Fine garments should never be machine pressed. They should be hand ironed by a skilled presser (aka finisher). Inside and out. No matter how long it might take. Machine pressing is to fine garment care what McDonalds is to fine cuisine.

2. Those buttons are fabric covered buttons. They should have been removed prior to "cleaning" and resewn after "pressing", using the same type of tread and the same style of sewing employed by the tailor. It's relatively easy to damage those fabric covered buttons in the cleaning/pressing process (based on the fact that the cleaner machine pressed that garment, it's highly unlikely that your cleaner protected those buttons while it tumbled in his dry cleaning machine).

If you don't have the necessary tools at home, find yourself a skilled dry cleaner who knows how to use a hand iron. Great pressing is the achieved by the convergence of the right skills and the right equipment.

What the hell? Is that a fabric-covered button?! Unless your suit is actually a dinner suit ("tuxedo"), then there's no reason for fabric-covered buttons.
