I noticed that you wrote "religion," but I don't know how that matters?

I just think that is a claim that's really hard to prove, especially if you're claiming EVER SINGLE CULTURE THAT HAS EVER ARISEN ON EARTH. That's not easy to prove.

And yes, it might speak to some human need, a need to try and make sense of this infinite thing we call the universe, but it doesn't mean the intuition toward religion is correct or pointing the truth that a god exists or whatever.

i dont see belief in a god as huma intuition.

just an early attempt to make sense off the world and the things going on in it.

I don't know if anyone's pointed this out, but your avatar is proof enough for me that God is real.

Its almost as if all "Religion Believers" are missing a brain chemical that allows them to see the world as it is, realistically and logically, based on the knowledge available today and given to us by our ancestors.

If George Lucas was born instead of whoever wrote the bible, we'd all be practicing some StarWars ****.

I think it's terribly cute seeing them act all intellectual as if they're the first person to discover science or think 'logically' about God, it's adorably naive.

No, I'm afraid not. I do believe in a general sence of carma...meaning that when you do good deeds, eventually you will get good back, but no god. I think goodness is inside us and we have a choice whether we want to use it or not...

Yes and no. Yes, since, as scarpe was saying, the Bible is a product of organized religion (as well as its producer). No in the sense that you can certainly have a personal relationship and belief in God directly, w/o even the Bible or prayer. But I do think the Bible and prayer nourish the relationship, as does full communion with the community of believers who have become sons and daughters of the Father, members of the body of Christ, temples of the Holy Spirit.

This is true in a compact way, but it's so compact as to be very dangerous. Iow, those terms need explanations and qualifications. One such qualification is found in Colossians 1:24. Another good one is Romans 2:15.

Did you know that the Jedi knights were modeled in part after the Jesuits? It's tough to say what society might have been like if there had been no Bible, since so much of our culture is based on it, directly or indirectly.

Which of their weapons represented sophistry, and which represented casuistry?

A lot of people don't seem to be able to distinguish between a belief in the transcendental and a belief in the specific tenets of a religion. The later is much easier to attack than the former. For the record I subscribe to neither but hey...
