Alden Rust Suede Boot on crepe sole - color works with just about any casual outfit, and the suede + calf leather lining make it incredibly comfortable to have wrapped around your foot.

Now I am confused. You say go with a 9.5EE? That is what I am already. Half a size down for me is 9EE. Is that what you meant?

Tom, just read about the LSBH Alden Trunk show. . . can't wait (hopefully some of the new models will be boots)! Will keep my eye out for more details.

Thanks. So far, three new models, one will be a boot. I may release a few more, haven't decided yet. Hope you and other Southern Cal SFers can make it down.

Just want to chime in because it would have helped me:

About a week ago I signed up for Shoe Mart's Alden Irregulars email and placed an order for black Cordovan Alden lace up Indys. Naturally I was nervous about spending so much on Irregulars and was thinking that I should have just ponied up the extra 250 for news.

Basically, the Irregulars are super sweet. The only defect I see is a tiny indent on the right shoe. I'm still not sure that's the defect, but I definitely don't care. I will say this was my second Alden shoe purchase, first online, so I'm psyched it worked like a charm. So, if you have doubts about Alden Irregulars, that's normal, and you know one more person for whom it worked out well.

Hello, I tried to find more information about this, but haven't got anything really helpful.

I love the LS cordovan jumper boots, but they're sold out. However, the JCrew cordovan boots are very similar. I understand the LS boots are on the trubalance last and the JC boots are on the barrie.

Can anyone explain the differences between these lasts, and if the difference will be very noticeable between the two boots?

Thanks.

If you're buying them solely for role play/geek conventions, then these would probably fit the bill.

You can probably get yourself a hat, shoes, whip, and pleather jacket for around the same price as the real Aldens and the Comic Conners will still be ecstatic.

The giant rolling boulder might be a little more.............

The irregulars are a bit like playing Russian roulette. They often work out, but there are sometimes real clunkers lurking in those white boxes. I've had both good and bad experiences.

if you haven't tried on either last it can be a bit of a gamble, i would definitely size down 1/2 a size... the good news is (and perhaps alden heads can correct me on this if they need to) the barrie and the true balance lasts seem to be fairly interchangeable. i really like the toebox witdth of the barrie last and the true balance feels similar to me. so i don't think there would be a noticeable difference in fits between the barrie and true balance for you.
