Are those sleeves really too short? I kind of want to order one but I'd need a 38 and I'm 6'3". So that would be like him with an inch off the sleeves, which just wouldn't work?

it actually isnt too big in the shoulders, the shoulder seams are obviously intended to fall there. can you imagine where those sleeves would hit if someone wide enough to actually make those shoulder seams land in the traditional spot were to put that jacket on? like halfway up the forearm

personally I would return it and find something with a more flattering cut

I think it looks pretty good. Around KC, those jackets are usually worn by over-sized dudes on their $40k recliners with open pipes and too much chrome. So, the slim fit looks alright. Also, I think the torso length works. Hitting right at the belt seems like the perfect length. Like others have said, how often do you raise your arms above you head.

Now, you just need to buy some gloves...I know you have an aversion to gloves for some reason. You'd think you'd want them when you have to scrape the ice off your windows. I think I'm totally gonna find you some hot pink leather gloves. You could totally rock them.

It fits well, except for one thing: it zips up the wrong side for a men's jacket.

Sweet jacket! I suspect it will stretch a bit, at least that's my experience with leather.

I also suspect the dropped shoulders are to allow you to ride an actual motorcycle

without the sleeves riding up to your elbows. Tight fit is so you're not flapping in the wind.

However, if you're self-conscious or uncomfortable, send it back.

I have plenty of things which are slim enough in the shoulders/chest that I can't lift stuff, but it's not an issue. When am I ever going to be lifting things in a blazer or overcoat?

"Traditional fit, sir. One can't raise one's hands above one's head. It tends to inhibit any impulsive acts of surrender."

You know... if you're in danger of busting the seams just by lifting your arms up.. that doesn't sound like it fits well at all. Other than bondage gear, you should have full movement. The things people do for fashion, eh?

well after much thought. Im just gonna return it. After looking up some old threads on the perfecto and seeing pictures of those jackets on people, mine definitely seems sloppy. The fit is just not as nice. The top shoulders are baggy while the waist is almost skin tight, i think thats why i gave my a leather gut.

My search continues for the perfect classic biker jacket.

Anyone recommend one under $400.00? Or around...... I may just end up getting a vintage perfecto on ebay. But it just kills me to not try it on before i purchase.

Steve- i would rock these hot pink gloves you speak of

Animals seem to be pretty mobile in their own skin...

I've got 2 perfecto one-stars and they don't limit my ability to raise my arms over my head. A buddy of mine can do the splits in his leather "rock star" pants (see also: 80s hair/glam). I'm not so sure that you must sacrifice dexterity for leather, but I would also caveat that some cuts might be much more appropriate for the material.

I agree.
I think it's lady's jacket... (unless the picture is mirror of yourself)
