are there any plans on having retail outlets carry these, or any way for us chicago guys to cop in person?

i thought i was all set until i read about the cordovan being in the works. gonna hold off and see what's doing with that.

any teasers would be appreciated.

this is true. but i also have a pair of 600 dollar shoes in my crosshairs and i need to exercise a bit of restraint at times.

I was about to kop a pair of these... but I've dropped aroun $2000 on shoes in the past 4 months. I figure these shoes are better suited for spring/summer so I'm going to hold off and see what everyones experience is. Funny thing is that I live less than a mile from the owner right now, but they no longer have any shoes at their Chicago locale. I initially wanted a brown pair of trail shoes, but the blue is growing on me fast.

i would gladly trade any restraint i have for the money to buy all of the things i want. who am i kidding, i have almost no restraint and very little guilt about it.

where is the chicago locale? surely not on oak street, which would be a pretty pricey place to set up a new business.

Its not a storefront... it's in Evanston.

i'm going to take some evolution pictures of mine this weekend, they haven't left my feet since i've got them. cannot wait to get a pair of the brown trail oxfords and definitely a pair of the boots.

I can't wait to see what the boots look like. My only hope is they won't have a chunky white Vibram sole. I just don't care for that look.

Hi everyone,

My Navy Trail Oxfords came today! But I need your opinion. As measured barefoot at a Runner's World, my feet are 7.5D. I ordered 7.5 in the oxfords, which fit fine with dress socks. However, when I wear them sockless, I get a bit of heel slip (it's also towards the end of the day, so I'm assuming it would be worse if I had just woken up and tried them on). You can hear the back of my heel slipping up and back into place when I walk. There is exactly 1 inch from my big toe to the end of the shoe, when I have no socks on.

Do you think I should keep them and just wear them with dress socks? Or, should I buy a 7.0 pair from oak street, let him know I'll be returning my pair, and potentially wait another 8-9 weeks (possibly less, as it depends on the supply of vibram soles)? I'm perfectly fine with waiting and paying for shipping fees. My other option is to use wall tack and stick some on the sole of the shoe. My canvas, 3-hole slip on common projects used to have some heel slip, but after sticking some tack on the sole, the tack essentially glued my foot to the shoe. The leather sole also molded to the shape of my feet, which makes them really comfortable and fit snugly. My last idea: tying the oak streets more tightly so my heels don't slip. If I do that, the shoe laces are too tight above my foot when I walk, so that won't work.

I think I want to buy a size 7 pair. I'm pretty confident the 7 would fit nicer after they stretched out, so I could just straight up return my 7.5 pair. I really do think the 7 would be a better fit, as the width won't be an issue. The leather will definitely stretch out, I can loosen the laces more, and the toebox is still pretty roomy in my 7.5's.

Overall, I have to say these shoes look as nice in person as they do in the pics. I'm really glad I bought them, despite the sizing error I made.
