I sort of went in expecting to like CI (for some reason) but walked out with the classic original.

As I understand it, this one is famous for it's dynamic drydown. Halfway through day one, I can already appreciate this. It doesn't seem like anything "new" to me however - just a solid, everyday EdC. Today it seemed to evolve from Clinique Happy to Terre d'Hermes to Rive Gauche(!) to Dior Homme. My nose isn't trained to latch on to the florals very well (besides obvious rose notes). I'm not sure if the musky woods are coming yet. We'll see I suppose.

Classic scent. Almost 100 years old and still going strong.

That's basically how I found the original but it was too fleeting for me to ever enjoy. 1 or 2 hours and it was gone. That's why I ended up with the intensia. The scent is pretty much the same but its got a lot more longevity. Enjoy the new bottle. If you end up not wanting I'm sure you'll be able to sell it off relatively easily.

Yesterday - SMN Musk. This was surprising. A VERY powdery musk scent, almost feminine in its appearance, but it straddles that line quite nicely. If I were into the powdery scents I'd snap this up in a heartbeat. As it is, I might keep an eye out for a decant.

Today - SMN Eva - Very classic kind of Spanish gentleman scent. Not overpowering, just light and fresh. I kind of like it but its nothing too special.

So far the Santa Maria Novella scents have been a disappointment.

I think TF Amber Absolute is perfect for winter. Kouros is excellent too, but maybe not as a signature scent.

I didn't have my date last night, so I didn't ruin it with Secretions Magnifiques. It is going to be tonight instead. I'm wearing Chanel No. 5, which I don't think has ever ruined a date.

Today, I decided on a full wearing of some Ormonde Woman in the parfum strength. I thought it would be similar to Ormonde Man, but I was wrong. I think I like Ormonde Man better.

I can't say I've explored the line too far, but I've got a good decant of Melograno, which I like. It's sort of a soapy powdery almost dry bitter floral. like a bar of soap, or the pith of a pomegranate (apparently). It's a little weird, and somewhat lady-like, but I like it in the spring on cool mornings. I've hear the other standouts are Nostalgia (something like Bvlgari Black), P'eau D'Spainia? and Tobacco Toscano (seemed like a light version of TFTV to me).

Today it's Bond #9 - New York Fling. Very faint sillage and longevity is ok so far after 2-3 hours. Very uninteresting, not bad, but just plain boring. It's a slightly fruity floral, very forgettable.

Wore this again today, and got a nice compliment! I must say this fragrance has certainly grown on me. Every time I smell the bottle my heart jumps.

Ordered some Black Tourmaline this morning. The descriptions of it sound quite compelling.

Is that Bond new? The SMN's have been meh at best. The Melograno, Toscano, Eva, and Musk were all ok but none of them really stood out as being worth purchasing. Nostalgia wasn't anything like Bvlgari Black IMHO. I didn't get the P'eau to try.

hmmm, you may wind up liking it, but I tried it and it did nothing for me. It's a dry, dry, dry, cold, smoky, unfriendly scent. Interesting as an intellectual exercise, but even the folks I know who tested it and then bought bottles found that they never never wear it.

Today, Chanel Pour Monsieur.
