David,

How do the Vass Chukkas do when worn during the winter weather? I am thinking about getting a pair but want to get an idea of how they will hold up. Thank you.

I've worn my Vass chukkas in suede with rubber sole in ankle deep snow of Hokkaido, no leaking and they held up very well.

If you are being serious, then I am very glad to hear that this is the case for the Vass chukkas. Thanks for the info, much appreciated.

Great! I'm hoping for a bit more reddish/eggplant color to pop up.

Really? They seemed more elegant from what I recall in previous photos. Interesting if they are the rugged Vibram.

For your convinience.

Note that I have since darken the stitching with dark brown cream. Much better. To be honest.

Saskia Wittmer makes a wonderful version of this using tan suede and lighter coloured soles to give it more of a desert boot look.
