The Name of the Wind, by Patrick Rothfuss, has its irritating points but so does every other fantasy novel, and has a great sense of place and adventure.

Gentlemen of the Road, by Michael Chabon, has a pair of quippy soulful Jews doing a kind of Conan the Barbarian thing in the ancient Middle East.

Both fun books.

I think I'm going to go through all the "classic" novels again because most of them are free.

Once I finish my current book, I wanted to do the same with the "classics". Any suggestions?

So far it ain't too interesting though, but again I just started like an hour ago. He does mention very early in the book that he loves Mick Jagger. I am pretty sure they dislike each other but the love is there.

The Ender quartet was a very good series of books. However, after Speakers of the Dead, I think it got a little convoluted and dry. Ender's Game was amazing though.

Some kind of bittersweet Hemingway in a Norwegian forest. I'd like to try another one by Per Petterson. Did you read any others?

In the Wake, To Siberia and I Curse the River of Time seem to be the ones available in English translation.

I haven't read any of his other books. I may have to pick one up.
