Don't get back pants. it will look silly.

Also, change your tie color. Black and white looks silly unless 1) it's black tie, 2) you're in a quentin tarantino movie, 3) you're at a funeral.

To SF MC'ers:

Do anyone of you have a particular tailor to recommend to make some large alterations?

Bluchers or balmorals to go with Sweater/OCBD+trouser fits?

Also what kind of brown goes with a black sweater/gray pants combo?

erm... no.

Everything will shrink - length, arm holes, chest, back - it would be a disaster.

Generally;

If a chest measurement is 40" (taken right up the armpit), would (obviously with the shoulders fitting correctly) you able to get into a jacket that has a 40", 41" or 42" pit-to-pit measurement?

And can a waistcoat be used like a girdle/corset to suck in the gut?

If you're saying you have a 40 inch chest then a jacket that fits you should have a bigger measured chest.

Generally, yes. My chest measures 40 when I inhale and expand it, but I take a 42 in a suit coat.

Not sarcasm on the black pants is it? I can't tell

Anyways, I think I will go with my original gray tweed tie.

I want to wear a waistcoat, dark gray or black?
And what about the pocket square?

Punch caps are totally fine. You're set to go with this pair.

Can I wear a navy bold pinstripe suit to the ballet tomorrow night, or should I stick with solid navy?
