Nope, picked up a bunch in Japan last week in all sorts of colors. I may start stocking them at the shop...they're really nice quality actually.

i like the laces Tom, but only for some occasions. my friend here with me, on the other hand, says "hell no." but what does he know? lol http://www.aldenshop.com/ has 405s in lots of sizes. they even have the ones with the cotton duck lining edit - the guy asked for 403s and i send a link to 405s. sorry i misread that.

Yeah, just for fun occasions. I did it for today because it perfectly matches the leather bracelet I'm wearing and also the red chronograph hand on my watch.

Aldens are popular with circus midgets and small asian men (hence The OneShoe).

I have a few alden boots with double leather sole's that get really slippery on tile floors, even with the 1/2 rubber heel. My question is, has anyone applied 'oil" to their soles in order to make them slightly more weather reisitant & also less slippery?

They look sick to me me (in a good way). I'm debating on those and the indy boots as my first real boots.

Go with the Indy, for your first. You'll most likely never take them off.
