I find it strange why people would post pictures of where they live on the internet.

Do you all think your living your own version of vogue living? So far all I've seen is some vague middle class desire to show off ones internet e-penis.

I'm sorry but posting pictures of the mansion you live in with a ferrari parked out the front is a silly display of wealth. It is insulting and tacky to people from all socio-economic backgrounds, especially in an economic environment where alot of people have lost and/or are looking for jobs.

You may as well make a thread stating something like "SF: Bank Account: How big is your statement" or "SF: Wives: How Hot is the ass you tap each night?". Vulgar. What ever happened to the days of discrete wealth?

Don't get it twisted! This threads main goal is to offer criticism just like WAYWT. Now lets not forget that all this is in fun and games as well as to not turn this into a pissfest. Look at the "Cars we Drive" thread it is not all a circle-jerk but a discussion of aspirations and preferences.

Yeah, while there will always bee gratuitous shots where your Ferrari just happened to be parked out front and shots of ugly mcmansions, a more focus is on interiors and design/layout/furnishing.

What table/chairs you use and how you set up your place is something that can just as easily be done well at a low price point as it can be done horribly wrong at a high price point (just like clothes...see kitonbrioni)

While not the most ostentatious place, my 650 sq-ft studio loft works perfect for me.

I've recently replaced the loveseat with a white leather couch.

Yeah I agree if it is for constructive criticism/improvement then that is fine.

I just think some people miss the point and are too keen to display their wealth.

The building was the original warehouse for the

Emery, Byrd and Thayer (EBT) Company, a Kansas City department store. Rarely you'll find EBT branded clothes items for sale on eBay. I used to own a silk neck tie from them. It has long been lost.

Back when I was a skateboarding, bmxing, punk-rock hooligan, we used to come downtown and rummage through old buildings. This warehouse was a great place to break things and talk to homeless people. It was surreal moving in to the once dilapidated building.

regarding the studio, I would rotate the bed to free up some more room, shift the furniture towards the window a bit, and then add a kitchen cart in the kitchen area to create a sense of separation between the kitchen and living areas. Also, taller bookshelves to add a dimention of height and to create more storage space.

That is the kind of studio I was looking for...but couldn't find anything similar in my area.

Every one I saw was super tiny so I ended up with a 1br that has similar square footage (but gives me much less control over layout).

I would definitely do a little room divider magic (hacked together bookcases maybe) and make some sort of cart/island to isolate the kitchen. Maybe a long counter-height table jutting out from the wall where the dining table is now. Use tall chairs and have it do double duty.

The painting was done by a good friend and tattoo artist. It was part of a collection of erotica that was shown in San Francisco in 1999. His name is Spike Palmer and he is an active artist and tattooer in Portland.
