Hey guys - long time reader, first time poster!

So it seems to be some sort of dislike on men's Coach bags as I was searching through the forum but I thought I'd ask anyways to see if any of your opinions have changed
smile.gif
. What do you guys think of this bag?

http://www.prettydeal.com/1010-coach...bag-70283.html

It's advertised as a men's bag on other sites, but I can see this being feminine. I'm looking to get a new laptop bag that can hold more just a laptop (a book, tubberware for lunch, etc). I want to get something stylish but not too flashy. I'm looking to spend around $200

I also like the color on this one: http://www.amazon.com/COACH-STRIPE-L...dp/B002O5NEFC/

Are the quality of Coach bag's as bad as you guys mentioned before?

Thanks

I have a full-on leather Coach soft briefcase and I am not 100% satisfied with the leather quality. In my view, the bag you pointed to runs afoul of the "don't order fish in a steakhouse" rule - that bag is nylon, but Coach has built its name as a leather goods company, so this bag is a way for them to cash in on the brand value while not giving you the quality (leather) the brand promises. At $200 I would look elsewhere, maybe Filson?

So the Filson Small Carry-on would be a good option? It seems big enough to carry the things that I bring on a daily basis to work. Does styleforum have any coupons with Filsons?

I have a Coach briefcase, but it's about 10 years old. It has held up very nicely and the leather seems to be of good quality. It also has a padded laptop sleeve built in, which is nice.

Try the sponsored shop http://www.cranes-country-store.com/store/home.php
One thing you need to know is that the small carry-on doesn't have any compartment inside. I find it a little inconvenient.
