Would anyone have info on Kilgour's relaunch of Bernard Weatherill? I have been told that the old RTW section of the Kilgour store on Savile Row was recently renamed Bernard Weatherill.

Are they coming back as a RTW-only business a la E. Tautz?

As you describe it, that's not re-launch. That's a whoring-out of a venerable name. For 20+ years Barneys has been selling upper-mediocre RTW under the name Kilgour French and Stanbury. Sounds like the same thing.

Well, I haven't described much. Just one section of the store is being remodeled and has the BW name outside it. Perhaps its a bespoke service at a price point lower than Kilgour (which is now up to Huntsman levels)? I don't know.

From the photographs, it looks as if they were trying to compete with Cordings. Why bother?

I saw RTW coats along all the walls as well as books of mostly tweeds for what I presume is bespoke. I didn't try anything on as SR is the first time I have felt the 16yr old in a jewelry store vibe in a long time. Kilgour Bespoke. Always existed, top line SR 4kish? Shanghai entry level bespoke (William Yu?). Gone? 1.8k? KFS RTW. Dated label for Barneys, mostly lame cuts. Long Gone. Brandelli with the black label. SS09 last season, has much more 'house' look than KFS with sharp shoulders and 1 button closing, dots on everything. 8-1200 for suits New RTW. Classic house style at high prices 2k for suits. Bernard Weatherill Merged with Kilgour in 1969 RTW and bespoke?

certainly at least two or three of the items in the window display look like bespoke garments

If it only looked anything like that. I saw the sign on the Row a few months ago and was excited. But then I checked out the web page and despaired. Zombie Bernard Weatherill wants to eat my brains.

I imagine it'll be the same as Kilgour bespoke, no? Just rebranded as BW.
