It is seriously insane that we have to respect these people.

You get magic messages beamed in to your head from Napoleon we put you in a rubber room but if the magic messages come from Jesus then you get all kinds of deference and special privilege....

Dixit insipiens in corde suo: Non est Deus.

Even if you reject the notion of revealed religion, God still manifests Himself through Reason and Nature, as the Apostle aptly states in the opening of his Epistle to the Romans.

I believe in something greater than the individual.
It's those who try to define that concept in terms certain that get us into such a mess.

It's much, much, much more likely that Aliens exist.

Whether you believe in God or not, the above line of reasoning (assuming the author is older than 7 years old) is a yet another sign that we, as the human race, are getting dumber and dumber... A FAIL

Honest question, not trying to troll... but does that make any sense at all? Maybe this is exposing me as the empiricist that I may very well be, but isn't that the same as going "I believe in unicorns. I can't explain it and if you were to argue with me rationally I may well lose. It doesn't matter; I believe nonetheless."?

I don't believe but I don't judge those who do.

Belief in god is properly basic. Just ask Alvin Plantinga.

Please explain why a rational, or warranted belief, has to be supported by evidence? We all have many beliefs for which there is no evidence.

And please add what evidence is there for the proposition that god does not exist.

I do not believe a sentient, omnipotent being in the sky who demands our worship exists.

As for some sort of prime mover, abstract "power" of some sort, no idea. I figure either way it doesn't affect the overall outcome of my life so it doesn't matter in any real sense beyond the intellectual masturbatory one.
