I grew up in a Mexican household where the traditions of Catholicism were very important. But I distinctly remember, even as a small child, never truly believing that God exists.

I say that flatly. Definitely do not mean to imply that I am a proud agnostic. I'm generally pro-religion, even, as I feel it often gives many people some sort of moral compass who otherwise would have had none.

Anyways, who here believes in God?

A guy on my EQ uberguild swears his sister's co-worker's former roomate believes in God, although I think it's just one of those urban legends.

I'm an atheist and think life is meaningless. The only reason we can debate the existence of Gods is because we're in a Goldilocks planet.

We'll see how much of a God there is when the Sun turns into a red giant. Our God is the Sun. It gave earth life and it's going to eventually take it away. That's right! Earth will get incinerated.

Nope, God doesn't exist. The Bible was the first real set of groundrules for living a good life, before law existed, and the rest of it was word of mouth and embellishment resulting in a conspiracy of controlling the populace through fear of something greater than themselves... which thankfully in modern times is now growing defunkt as science gives us the answers we need, with more to come.

It's much, much, much more likely that Aliens exist.

It would be more comforting if I did, but I don't. Besides, heaven sounds like a socialist utopia. How can the right fathom an afterlife of leisure and floating around on clouds?

And Jesus is Santa Claus for adults.

The great majority of human beings are believers. Instinct?

Science shows there's more going on than meets our five senses, and I wouldn't rule anything out these days.

Interesting times.

I don't, but I don't like to admit it to people as I'm usually lumped into that group of moran atheists who think they're superior to theists.

That's ok...many of them believe they are superior to you. Someone has to provide balance...

Since persons are subjects and not objects, they are not exhaustible; they are like magic cows that give fresh milk forever
