Looks like they served him well, I'd just keep wearing them without trying to fix them,don't see how they can be salvaged but they have so much character.

Today I received my Alden Indy seconds from shoemart.com. I picked them up for 299 shipped. I was curious to see what imperfections would appear on the shoe and there were a few. They include: •\tSmudge on the toe box of the left boot •\tMetal shoelace clasp is bent in •\tLeather on the right boot heel looks cut •\tBoot looks worn. Leather shows minor creasing especially on tongue and sole has the appearance that it was walked on Now for the sizing, the boot is slightly too big. Im kind of pissed because I went down a half size and its still too big. I wear a size 12 equivalent dress shoe in Testoni, a 12 in converse and an XL in Rainbow sandles. My Indy is a 11.5E but that was with a dress sock. I figure of I wear a thicker sock than they will fit just fine. i had the same problem i wear a 7 in barrie so according to regular advice i'd need a 7 in trubalance i bought #8 cordo indy's in a size 7 i could tell right away my feet would be in pain by the end of the day so i returned them. must be the lasts but barrie has enough toe room for me all toes. the indy's had room but it was real tiny bit of room.

like these guys where saying the length will not stretch.

so did you go with a 7.5 or a 7E? in general, i'm curious as to where on the shoe an E is wider than a D. how much, and where, does it change the shape of the shoe? i'm leaning towards ordering a half size larger vs. a wider size based on my foot measurement.

if anyone is interested in a slightly used pair of size 8.5 indy boots (model 403, chromexcel) shoot me a message.

Same here. I have bought 3 pairs in the last 2 months. The funny thing is that I don't really get a chance to wear them since I have to wear black non slip shoes for work. I'm planning on buying another pair in the next week.
