Park Avenues should be worn only by 50+ year old management types or those who aspire to be as boring as possible.

Park Aves are perfectly fine as a basic dress shoe. Maybe a little boring but I wouldn't call it old man looking (especially compared to a lot of things I see in the MC forum)

Of course, I bought them mostly because I needed something basic, quickly, and they were more or less new for $40 shipped.

E Park Avenues are the Chucks of dress shoes. Never terribly interesting, but you can't go too far wrong with them. I am actually wearing a seven year old burgundy pair right now.

But yeah, Loakes are good. Slightly <PA's in terms of quality etc, but solid choice nonetheless
