To protect the shoe my inclination is to strip the polish and condition the shoe. Should I take this to a cobbler? Longevity is hurting!

You need to put proper sized cedar shoe trees in after each wear. It pulls out the creases and absorbs moisture. The best shoe conditioner is Saphir Renovatuer. The consensus shoesthat Saphir polishes are also the best money can buy.

Ask voxsartoria. He would probably know.

Thanks for the reminder about the shoe tree. I got woodlore or some such. They are solid, shaped to the shoe and most importantly fit the shoe.
Are my $200 Allen Edmond's worth purchasing Saphir Renovateur. If so, I'll pick them up. I would also like budget options for an older pair of AE's that I'm keen on keeping much longer.

Baracuta Van Heusen Harrington jackets - are they worth buying? Seems like you can get a Van Heusen for about 40 to 50, where as an original G9 will end up running about 120-150. Is it worth pursuing the Van Heusen?

Wear pleated pants and this will stop, or at least be significantly reduced.

Anything in in the "cool" color family. All blues, greens, purples, violet, eggplant. Reds and pinks that are blue based (that is not orangy reds).
