Hahaha, are you my twin? Jwied's boots look hilariously ill-proportional in the photo but I'm guessing unless he's falling over himself as he walks it may not be that bad in the 'real-world'. Everything else looks nice though. God I must be bored I've contributed more today than in the last four years.

ok here goes, maybe i'm reading it wrong but this is how i interpreted it...

seems to me like you're trying to infer that expensive = style which alot of new people come on here and spew, saying **** like 'if my sneakers said lanvin on the side everyone would love them etc etc' (which just isn't true, infact, lots of people here hate lanvin and its pretty generally agreed upon that most lanvin shoes are **** ugly)

its cool you have opinions, you can not like kunk's fits all you want, but you might want to keep the criticism of it to yourself, and just lurk a bit. it seems clear you dont get the aesthetic when you ask someone to explain to you why its a good fit. i'm not a fan of rick owens-y stuff, but it seems that alot of the appeal comes from playing with proportions and doing something that doesn't look classically styled.

and i think you were mainly catching the hostility off of 'themselves's' post (who i'm pretty sure is just a ****** troll, given that i've only ever seen him talk **** on people without ever showing he knows anything by posting a fit pic) because you agreed with him.

i forget where i was going with this, i had more to type but whatever

please. it might look OK if krunk was 20, skinny, and angelically beautiful. but he's this short, beefy, practically middle-aged guy, who has the look of a carpenter or plumber, trying to shoehorn his body and his life into clothes he will never "fit"... it's sad, when you think about it.

ps: mar_r, what happened to you? you used to fit into jeans, then somehow you became more or less obese, almost overnight. one of the strangest transformations I've seen to date on this forum.

The quotes around good and fancy mean that he was doing the exact opposite of 'expensive = style'. I would also say it means he knows how RO is generally regarded here.

I would ask for you to define 'aesthetic'? What is there really to get other than the overall look, isn't that, when you take everything away, all you're left with? And if that doesn't look right, then what do you have left? Now, I feel there is some freedom when it comes to RO, but it isn't magically lifted above the realm of critique simply because it may play with proportion or not be classically styled - it just further restricts itself, giving it a higher degree of difficulity when trying to wear the garments as intended and the truth is not everyone can wear them well. I can't.

Try this: take away the names of the designers; does it look good? Hmmm...

Edit: With all that said, if it makes him happy then *******, that's awesome. And since it obviously does, that's great. The jackass up there saying it's sad is clueless.

please, i'm 5'10" 160lbs. all you're doing is proving that all you do is talk **** on people without showing you know a damn thing about dressing well.

I'm sorry, but if you are 6 foot tall, and your clothes make you look short, then you're doing something wrong...

Nah I see what you're getting at. I kind of did jump the gun by generalizing people here as expensive = automatically nice.

And if the Rick Owens style is to mess around with proportions and whatnot, that would explain Kunk's outfit, and why people would seem to appreciate it. I was just looking at his outfit in terms of traditional proportions.

In any case, I'm just satisfied I got an actual response to my question.

a) Kunk's like 6'2 b) Wearing clothes he wants to wear is sad? oh i get it, you're one of those guys who wears the clothes he thinks he should wear. Even if he didn't look good in his clothes (which he does), i bet he enjoys his clothes a shitload more than people who are obsessed with the body type rules etc.

The funniest thing about Kunk's photo is the context. It's like the love child of Rick Owens and Arnold Schwarzenegger as my next door neighbor. If he did one of those standing on a roof photos that Aeglus does, it would be less jarring. Speaking of which, when his Rick sneakers become beaters, he should mow his lawn in them.

That all said, dude totally looks like an assassin.
