If you've got money, why not? Got mine used in good condition for $550. No regrets.

http://www.barneys.com/745%20Workboo...efault,pd.html recently bought F+B 745's aswell.

Both are lovely boots. F+B's might be a cheaper option?

Ah, lucky you! I've been looking for a used pair in my size for a while now (9 or 9.5), but I haven't been as fortunate. The F+B's are nice, but I'm looking for a brown boot at the moment, and while I have the money, I'm not sure if I can justify spending that much on one item...

It's got nothing to do with whether or not I can afford them (I can). It's just that I choose not to waste my money paying for a name, which is all these things are. Normal Dayton boots don't even cost that much, you're paying easily $200-300 extra for the Wings + Horns name attached to them and the marsupialed 'distressing' process they go through (kinda like what Abercrombie does to their clothes). There are other 'brown boot' options out there for less. Sure they look good, but not for the price. I can't believe people even pay $500+ for them USED, that's just pathetic.

There have been many people who have bought the regular Daytons, I have yet to see a single one return with boots that look like the W+H Service Boots, even though it's "so easy"

I didn't say Dayton made similar boots, I just said similar ones are available.

Did your plebe public education not teach you how to read?

Similar ones? I'd gladly buy similar ones if such a thing exists, but I can't find any (and I've been looking for months).

If by similar you mean another brown leather lace up boot

Local Disk: If that's what you want, I can't think of another boot that really captures the same look. F+B and Buttero might be worth considering, but they're in the same price range regardless

What? You can buy the exact boot for $400 direct from Dayton - paying more for personalization (sole, leather, etc). And as far as the distressing, paypal me $300 and ship me the boots and I'll tie them into a ball and drop them into some water for a few days.
