Nice, I have a crazy pair coming that I plan to retire Hunter boots with. They are high, with buckles at the top, black scotch grain wingtips with vibram soles, storm welt. They are using patterns from five different stock boots. Ron claimed it is going to be a doosy, but well worth it.

Spotted the Berlutti display in Claridges last night so took a couple of sneaky photos.

Some nice shoes on the top row with a briefcase inscribed with God knows what. Below was two pairs of monstrosities which looked like they'd just been through major surgery...

Ya. No. These do not look like they have fine loving patina. They look like a shoe tree has never been used and they are about 2 sizes too big.

So you only buy raw tan Aldens? Practically every pair of shoes from Edward Green to Gaziano to Lobb to Crockett to AE has built-in faux antiquing nowadays.

They don't look that bad. n.d.c. used the pre-curled sole almost 5 years ago and those reportedly were just fine. Using the name "Shabby Chic" is a bad move though.
