I just wanted to make the point that bicep curls are actually harder than all the exercises everybody's been talking about. Make that one-armed curls, now there's a real man's workout. Who cares if you squat 500lbs. I'm telling you, the guy curling 500lbs is going to be stronger, and can probably do pullups in the 3-4 range.

You idiot.

If he can do 500lbs curls... we talking about DB, not BB, right? Then it's most likely he can only manage 1-2 pull-ups at max.

Hope this clarifies.

More than someone who does those ***** deadlifts. I wonder how those people can even open the doors to the gym.

I think that any gym where people are doing deadlifts should consider installing ramps.

The front door to my gym is a trap door in the ground. It weighs 200kg. If you can't lift it you ain't getting in. Sometimes after a hard workout I can't squat it to get out so I end up sleeping on the bench.

You should have used gloves for the squat.

So now I am totally confused.

Guy at my gym was box-squatting 575x5x5 (got 3 on the last set). Later I saw him doing Zottman's for reps with 105's.

So what hand lotion does he use?

Either 2 or 71, depending on high bar or low bar squats. Edit: I also did squats and deadlifts today, same weight, same reps, etc. I am therefore stronger than myself, which is clearly impossible, since I am stronger than myself, not the other way around. Therefore I am infinitely strong.

Did you do any Singaporean pull-ups? You'd know if you had.

I can't ******* believe this thread has turned into a 9 page shitstorm debating the merits of deadlifts vs squats. Do both! Don't short change your fitness by neglecting one of the big four lifts simply because "if your form is wrong you could hurt yourself". It's up to you to learn the proper form so you won't hurt yourself. Very elementary.
