I wouldn,t put it that strongly though I basically agree with you.

Perhaps something like: The beautiful proportions and scale of the ALS really show a stark contrast to the oversize Panerai ( and I am not against oversized watches across the board ).

And the new ALS and JLC are great with the JLC in the lead IMO.

I prefer the dial of the original L1 to the Daymatic - I also prefer manuals, so this may influence my thinking, despite Lange's technical innovation and the addition of the day of the week complication. As for the new 1815 chrono, it's certainly a lovely piece. Lange extended the power reserve, but I find the aesthetic almost too stark, as it loses the depth of the original IMO. From what I've heard, those who stood on the sidelines for the original 1815 chrono are going for the new one, while owners of the original are staying put. Horses for courses...

To be honest, none of the Chronos do it for me. I do prefer the Daymatic though (the slightly larger case size helps).

How do you like the Jaeger?

I thought the Daymatic was still 38.5mm? As for the JLC, I find it too busy and a little showy, to be honest.

I need some help here guys, please (and thanks in advance)... I've got a Tag Carrera (borrowed pic posted below) that needs a new strap. 1. Any suggestions for specific straps or at least certain sites I should check? 2. I'm thinking of a black or brown alligator strap, relatively thin and sleek. It's a black face so I'm not sure if the brown would clash? I thought alligator would be nice, but do you think some other kind of material or style would be better? 3. I ideally would like to keep my TAG deployment buckle, so does that mean I need a strap with square ends on both sides? Is that called an "open ended" strap or is there some technical name for it I can use to search?

There is nothing wrong with a standard brown or even chocolate. I'd just stick with black for that Carrerra. 1. Any suggestions for specific straps or at least certain sites I should check? 2. 1) There are tons of good strap makers and sellers. I like the DiModell Louisiana Alligator that I got from mywatchmaker.net. If you look Bob up on TZ he offers good discounts for members. 2) I like honey brown with black. Its a sharp contrast you don't see often. 3) As long as the new strap has the same width at the end as your Tag strap does you'll be able to use the deployant. Most straps come with lug and tip measurements.
