Spilled red wine on my carpet

Blotted the stain with paper towels, got most of the liquid up. Put salt on it. Can't do much until tomorrow. What's the best way to remove it? Or at least lighten it significantly.

If it's dry, you need to brush it and blot it with a cloth soaked in milk. Then soapy water and it should be gone. If it's not soak the whole stain with hot milk and let it sit for an hour before rincing.
