I haven't had time to get up to a store but I am thinking about placing an online order soon.

Just looking for some thoughts/opinions/pics before I go through with the purchase.

Thanks in advance.

With my experience of J. Crew outwear...which is a lot I might add...I would say no. The only coats that would probably work for you are the sherpa lined ones and maybe some of the peacoats.

meant this as a reply to steve2318 sorry i was thinking hard in regards to the same issue. however i loved the woodland jacket, the color, the style.. very nice and very heavy.. it was nicer than the barbour bedale jacket and fit better. im usually a small, and im on the shorter side (5'7") about 145 lbs.. i tried the small but it was too long in the sleeves for me. the XS fit perfectly however i have almost no movement in it if its buttoned.. the middle of the chest was super slim.. but im pretty wide and have a hard time buttoning the top three buttons on any jcrew small. overall however i loved the coat. i will be buying it soon.. it has snaps and hooks, and great pockets. get it.

saw them in store, didnt try it on but they were heavy, the oilcloth itself felt thick with the red plaid quilted lining, it would be warm enough for me in boston winter.

I'd say go for it. It looks like it has a thick flannel lining and if it's not warm enough, just pick up a $30 lands end down vest and it should do you well. I wore a spring/summer weight wax cotton jacket with a down vest for most of last winter (I'm near Toronto so the weather is similar).

Is the 20% off coupon for only one item or the entire purchase? Cause I'd really appreciate it if someone could pickup a shirt for me along with their own purchase and proxy it over to Vancouver, Canada.

Coupon is for an online purchase so I am grabbing several items. Send me a PM about the shirt and we'll see if there is something we can work out.

I actually bought mine on ebay for 10 bucks. I am buying a jacket, sweater and a sportcoat, so I figured it was worth it with the amount of money I am going to save.

I just picked up the fair isle sweater at the Century City (LA) location. Looks like they have a lot of their f/w merch in. I tried on the Woodland jacket in small, my usual size, and the waxed cotton seemed really nice. The hardware was pretty cool, too, with the heavy duty buttons and clips. However, the fit was a little off on me - the shoulders were too small and seemed narrower than the waist, in stark contrast to the rear-view photo featured here. The sleeves were a little short, too. I didn't try on a medium, which might have been more my size, because when I went back the rack was blocked by a maintenance guy, so this isn't a comprehensive analysis. I was really just there for the fair isle. Incidentally, the Rustico tweed crewneck looks better in person than online. I was very tempted, but they didn't have my size.

Sherpa hoodies for $98? Has it always been this expensive or did they increase the price this f/w season?
