jacket collar alteration question

So I recently put on a custom jacket that I had made up a couple of years back. I couldn't help but notice that the collar has become a bit loose. It is pretty evident that this is a function of the jacket being somewhat tight in the chest. Through exercise, my upper body has become thicker over time. I don't know if "strap measurement" is the right term, but something has certainly changed. Anyways, does anyone know if anything can be done to ameliorate this collar issue? I know that it is next to impossible to "add fabric" to the chest of a jacket. For what it is worth, the lapels of the jacket still sit flat against my chest. Any help is greatly appreciated.

If by loose collar you mean that the back of the collar is pulling away from your neck, a tailor can adjust that so that the gap is eliminated. I believe the procedure is called raising the collar.

Just see your tailor...he can take care of that. A custom jacket will usually have more allowances than RTW at the seams for adjustments like this.

That is a simple alteration, they can go in and tighten the collar up some so it gives you a better fit.
