Do you get anything extra with your $70 cut? There's a place in Seattle that does $75 cuts with "mini facial and luxurious hand massage" ... they're a bit ridiculous http://valentinesseattle.com/services.php

The most I ever paid for a haircut was in Korea. 170 for a cut, magic straight for my bangs and sideburns, and a slight perm for the top. It was discounted from 220. Yay for blackjack winnings? Usually pay around 25-35.

I pay 40 rmb ($6) which is relatively expensive here, but it comes with a 40 minute massage. Usually I go just to get a massage, don't really care much for the haircut.

$0 as I cut my own hair. Started 5 years ago or so by just buzzing it because I was exercising and swimming a lot during the summer, but since then I've been doing it progressively longer so that now I use scissors on the top and the clippers just for the sides/back. Most people can't believe I actually do it by myself. One really nice thing about it is that I can easily do a quick touch up once a week or so.

yeah I sometimes get my hair straightened, it's 330 for that and a mediocre cut (better to cut after hair settles from the straightening anyway.)

I pay 30-40 for a regular cut though, my hair is easy to cut because it's basically one length and shag, hard to **** up.

I've paid 60-70 in Tokyo before, in Omotesando and Aoyama.

I get free touch-ups. Would never trust myself with a straight blade anywhere near my head.
