Ardmore, tho, I've never tried. How does it compare to the Ardbeg & Laphroig?

Dark 'n' stormy on Appleton Extra and, regrettably, Schweppes' ginger ale.

Making my own ginger beer is a project for a rainy day.

Ardmore is a Highland, not an Islay. It is peated though. To my taste it is not nearly as aggressive as Ardbeg or Laphroiag so it might be good if you are looking for something a little less "in your face."

Old sherried Bunnies at cask strength.

I'm having some Highland Park 25 now, will probably have some Hudson Baby Bourbon later.

I still haven't popped my HP25's cherry yet, how is it?

I had this evening a GT with Ten that was followed by a GT with the standard Tanqueray. The former was noticeably smoother and did not smell of alcohol like the latter. I think I still prefer the strong botanicals of Bombay Sapphire over the two mentioned in their respective green bottles.

I'm in the process of making my own falernum right now. As I type I have the following items steeping (for 24 hours) in 8 oz of Bacardi 151:

Zest of 8 limes
Zest of 1 orange
1/2 cup chopped ginger (fresh)
5 star anise (dried and packaged)
1 tbsp allspice
1/2 tbsp nutmeg

Tomorrow I will strain and then add 3 cups simple syrup (made with cane sugar) and 10 drops of almond extract.

I'll let you know how it goes!

Something I just whipped up:

2oz aged rum (Flor De Cana 12)
1oz lime juice
0.25oz Kahlua
2 dashes Fee Bro's aromatic bitters

Top with *gasp* a little soda water.

Later tonight, it will be on to more serious drinks
