Been too busy to watch the TiVo so have not read the latest here until just now. Watched it last night.

Joan and Peggy: insight into the battle between old school women and 60's era feminism. Joan neither approves nor likes the new school.

Betty: immature wench. Also, bothered by her fading youth and is driving herself nuts thinking of younger girls gobbling Don's know, which is what happened. Her allure is wearing off to her new hubby. He thought he got the perfect Barbie doll wife and is now upset that she still clearly loves Don. Him petulantly running into Don's boxes was classic and then mowing the grass to assert his manhood.

Don: Very complicated. First, can't see why he doesn't force everyone out of his house, kids be damned. It could be done in a way to cut his financial burden. Make the new guy buy out Don's equity or something. Second, could not believe he took that **** from the new guy. Don is turning out to be something of a real *****. Drunken Duck kicking his ass, stealing the real Don's identity to avoid further service, etc.

Don's Mojo: yes, it's back. He's in control. Got serviced in a taxi by that hottie who was putting him off. Made some headway with the shrink lady. Drying out, exercising. I think things will get more satisfying again.

I read someone say this is the last season? (Series ending story archs). Is that right?

Regarding finances and the house: they're paying rent to Don.

I was a little worried about this show at the end of last season but it has been kicking some serious ass this season. I can't remember a show being as good as this...well...perhaps Manimal. But other than that, nothing.

Thought the episode was a tad boring. Betty is ******* over. There is nothing left in her story. Weiner needs to quit pretending otherwise just because January Jones gets a large paycheck.

I'm surprised there isn't more hate for that oral diary. I've been loving this season and that Joan/Peggy confrontation was great, but Don's VO was a real clunker.

Don directly taking over the narrative of the story is consistent with his character taking control of his life. We've always understood (or thought we understood) Don through subtle actions, now we (certainly) understand him at the deepest level, his own thoughts. I doubt this will become a trend so don't worry.

Oh, line of the epi:

Don doesn't even know who you are.

Joey had to go. His hairline was so obnoxious.

It's a new bed. I cant recall if it was in previous eps this season. The new bed goes along with throwing out the old boxes.

This. Plus, it wasn't typical voiceover narration. We were just privy to the things that Don was writing in his journal, and nothing else. Still probably a performance of sorts, but closer than we've ever been to the guy.
