Rain Protection / Cover for my Leather Bag?

I have a Large Satchel from Saddleback that I very much like.
Unfortunately with the Vancouver weather it is only useful about 5 months out of the year.

Are there any water proof covers or bags I can use to cover my leather in the rain?

Or do I have to retire this bag into the closet for better weather?
I've tried eBay search, google search, no luck yet.

It's a leather bag. It's more ready for the weather than you are.

Perhaps you need a leather bag for your leather bag. Of course, that then creates the problem of how you will protect the leather bag's bag.

Leather is meant to get a wet. The rain won't hurt your bag.

Mainly I'm worried about the water spots, water damage or issues after it dries.

Will there be problems?

my experience has been that rain will dry out a leather bag and lead to cracks. I keep a plastic bag that fits over my leather bag if I get caught in the rain. It ain't pretty but it's better than a dried out $1000 bag...

No.

Don't dry it out over a heater. Don't let it lay wet in a corner for weeks at a time. If necessary, use some leather conditioner once or twice a year.

The problem is that in Vancouver it rains, constantly, for weeks at a time. You can go three weeks without seeing the sun. I think the OP has legitimate concerns, but then SF has never been particularly helpful in making allowances for climate.

Clothes (and accessories) are meant to be worn. I've exposed my leather shoes, jacket, briefcase, and portfolio to the weather and they are all fine.

+1. Condition the bag regularly, and don't worry about the rain.
