Not all studies are absolutely foolproof. I have many friends on Facebook who are successful professionals with very high Self-Esteem and they are not narcissistic. I don't agree with the findings on this one

Never joined. Seemed too plebeian. It's the Beer Pong of the Internets. Rise above the Bread and Circuses!

There are normal people on facebook, I think the qualifier should be those who spend a good deal of time on facebook. Take my ex for example, who is so addicted to it who had to check it multiple times a day even while on vacation. She is the pure definition of a narcissistic self loather with self esteem issues.

Looks like I need to set up a facebook page. I am a superb physical specimen and I hate myself or being so perfect.

In that case I shall go and set up multiple Facebook pages and litter them with whiny self-promotion.

Then I'll log on to SW$D and quietly cry to the WAYWRN fit pics. **** you cool kids and your blucher mocs!

I and a lot of people I know just go on facebook to creep other people, look at pictures, read discussions etc. I rarely update my status or post pics.
I think this is fairly common too. I dont' see how that fits in with this study. Like someone said, 100 people is a joke of a sample size

The problem is that Facebook has become a standard mode of communication for people under 35. Not participating can be very anti-social.

Not conclusions that are useful. The research does not show how narcissistic or self-loathing Facebook users are compared to the general population. For all we know, all people are self-loathing narcissists--but some are simply more internet-savvy about it.
