preorder is done; I'd expect mid-September, but can't be too sure.

i've got the fw09 version and i'd say it's not all that noticeable unless you're really looking, but you can see it around your neck. i wasn't too crazy about buying a jacket with fur, but damn is it cushy. i imagine it would be more noticeable with the olive than the black (i have black).

fck. and i thought 20% off was a good deal. I'm guessing these are massed from ken? I know he had a surplus of older models in his shop.

Thinking of picking up an Ayling this season but wondering if it'll be too thick to get much wear during Cali winters.

Opinions?

probably too thick imo. although the navy ayling was less thick than the olive last season. if you like the navy you might wanna pick one up from djh when he lists them. you could always resell it if it doesn't work out.

truth. It's most likely too thick, even if it is thinner, but krane stuff at that pricepoint is unheard of.

I'm sort of devastated that the one coat I've wanted for two F/W's now (the officer's coat) is here in a 38 and 42, but not 40. That blanket lining could be a beautiful thing in a Michigan winter.

imo, the Cyril aviator (which I wear) and the Ayling peacoat were the standouts for FW09. The officers coat is cool, but the problem with long coats in waxed cotton is that you can come of either douchey or trenchcoat mafia-y, neither of which is a good look. imo.
