If you were going to spend all your money on one item of clothing what would it be?

See above (and a watch doesn't count)

edit: I meant a single piece (ie one pink vicuna brief), but then again this is all for fun, rules matter not.

Authentic deerskin bag.

I would get most of my money back shortly afterwards, though. And keep the bag.

Shoes, without any hesitation. I rather have crappy suit and a good pair of shoes, than a good suit with crappy shoes.

Outerwear, because it offers the most opportunities for whatever money you are spending to be transformed into something real and tangible. At some point the quality of the garment simply cannot increase much more no matter how much money you throw at it, and in my opinion this point is much higher for outerwear than it is for suits or shoes.

Suits are wool or cotton with some cashmere thrown in (I don't like pure cashmere suits). Shoes are leather and fairly restricted in size and design. Outerwear can be anything and look like anything -- you can throw in some vicuna, some leather embellishments, an endangered-white-tiger-fur collar, a full mink lining, etc ad nauseum.

I love those green RLPL shearling-on-the-inside, cashmere-on-the-outside jackets; I have a Marc Jacobs techno fabric bomber jacket fully lined with long curly sheep shearling fur; these are the luxury items that make my heart sing, not the outrageously priced suits and shoes that look indistinguishable from ordinary suits and shoes if the picture in question is ever so slightly out of focus.

The finest, rarest of Allen-Edmonds seconds: the flawed pair of JLibourels, the pair before the perfect pair that they sent to him before destroying the last.

I know that they are out there...somewhere.

I was leaning towards outerwear or a blazer, because I think a thick coat will last longer than a suit or shoes. Also I'm not in a profession that requires much suit wear.

That ploy only works if the bag isn't actually deerskin.

Too predictable. When i saw this thread title, I immediately thought "vox should get in on this with some AE seconds".

For me, it'd have to be salmon short cut offs, a little too snug in the crotch.
