He's kinda big to talk about revoking stuff from. It's enough he knows his place.

good luck

+1 on all three. raised in a military family. it's probably harder because they're not used to moving, but they'll get used to it. it'll take a couple of months of ferrying to the old neighborhood, but eventually that will stop, too. when my daughter was just out of elementary school, we moved. it was pissy for a little bit but kids are resilient.

Did you "initiate" your mom with the football team to fit in?

I like the bait and switch idea, threatening to move to a land far away and then only moving 10 minutes away. Welcome to politics.

my parents moved a lot around the city, but i fighted for the right to go to MY SCHOOL, though it took me more then an hour to get there during last years. my younger sister changed school every time we moved... and yes, that sucks.

How did you manage to go to a school that didn't correspond with your family's propiska?

if we're done talking about moms, one serious comment: kids live very much in the moment. when you first move, it will be the very worst thing that ever happened to them and how could you ruin their lives. put up with the ferrying back and for for a couple of weeks and all will be forgotten.

I did a bunch of those 10 minute moves as a kid. Absolutely hated them. Have always vowed that if I had kids, I would not move after they hit age 2 or 3 come hell or high water.

well, looks like it is happening...and the kids are getting a dog. prices have come down and the high school is us top 10 so they don't have a choice. it will be tough on the kids but our closest friends in our hood are thinking about moving there as well. It's where I've always dreamed of living (well, in NY anyway). When they see the yard and the space they have, I think they will get over it.
