This is going to come as something of a shock, but I'm a lawyer. More specifically (although not that specifically) I'm a litigator, handling complex civil litigation and white collar criminal matters.
And, of course, a dad -- by far the more important and rewarding of my two eponymous jobs.

College student who, now that he thinks about it, has just about run down the salary from the only job (at a hedge fund) he's ever held. Coincidentally, what is probably the first purchase I made with that money (boots) just arrived at the shop today and will be in my hands right when I finish exams this week and get ready to head back East (by going west). Unsure about the future.

The steel biz is family owned and I run middle management. The soymilk is a start-up with a couple of friends- we just started distribution a month ago and I'm elated people are buying it.

Ah, that's right. I forgot your girlfriend's father owns a steel company.
