BBBF Suit need alteration advice

Hi Guys,

so I have a BBBF suit I bought off gilt. it's a 2 button grey suit. I need to get it tailored. I am very ignorant on this subject. and I need it tailored by Thursday afternoon so not that much time to educate myself.

do I get cuffs? no cuffs?
do I get working buttons? is that stupid?

ummm any other advice would be greatly appreciated.

If you need the suit by Thursday it's going to be hard to do. You're going to have to pick your tailor based on there ability to get the garment back to you fast (not necessarily well).

I say cuffs. Working buttons on the sleeves is a personal thing and it depends if you can find someone quick enough to get it back to you that's capable of doing the buttons.

It's a slim-fitting suit with no pleats, correct? Don't get cuffs, unless your legs are unproportionally long.

If I were you, I'd not risk this. I've almost ruined an expensive suit, because I chose a cheaper tailor for a simple alteration instead of going to my trusted tailor who charges more and takes more time to get things done. Never again will I do the same mistake. I'd rather wait for a few weeks and pay more, than have my suit ruined by some under-skilled schmuck.

If you absolutely need to wear a suit, find an alternative that fits you OK at H&M or something, but don't rush with the BBBF.

That's my take on this.

I agree, find an alternative for Thursday rather than run the risk of having a poor job done on the BF. Besides, wearing a new suit to an important event doesn't always present you at your best.

Hi guys. oops, already dropped it off, but this tailor seems pretty legit. he knew what working buttons were (which may seem wierd but i went to a tailor once with a RLPL suit I bought off ebay and she gawked at me when i asked for working buttons, *****)

question. there were only 2 cuff buttons for each cuff included with the suit. I think BBBF suits only use 2 button cuffs. but i'm having the guy do workable cuff buttons so can any one confirm this? any one have pics of how it should look?

Two buttons are standard for BBBF.

BB would also put more buttons on the sleeves, if requested. All of my 2007 and 2008 suits and jackets have four buttons while I requested two sleeve buttons for the suits purchased in 2009.
