******* love these boots. so comfortable, great quality leather, and interesting use of a leather sole as a "rugged" boot. heres a fit pic:

How durable is the leather bottom? Do I need to put some rubber on it if I wear them a lot or something?

I topy'd mine for the wintertime (snow/slush isn't exactly leather sole friendly), basically a thin rubber sole applied over the leather one.

If Wolverine did a 1000 Mile boot with a commando sole I'd be all over it.

Any experience with the various Wolverine 1000 mile boots vs. Aldens in terms of sizing?

Are they all on a Munson-like last, like the LL Bean Katahdin boots?

That thin rubber sole sounds like a good idea...

What about using that boot dressing for cowboy boots? I think its a glossy rubbery/silicone? Its for keeping the edges the same color?

first time shopper deal, just call customer service either during or after your order to get a one time discount of 30% off [some excluded brands)

so do these fit half or a full size large? How should I size on them compared to my red wing GT size?

It's not going to be my frist time shopping there, more like 2nd time. Also I would have preferred avoid calling, since I'm in Australia. Time zone difference and all...
