That looks pretty nice. How's the table finished? And how'd you decide on this guy? I did a little looking around for local furniture makers and I didn't even know where to start.

Don't know how it's finished--his ebay descriptions say he uses spar urethane on most pieces but I'd bet he'd be flexible if you wanted something different. Some of the stuff on his site is more rustic than I'd want. I haven't bought anything from him and he's not local to me, so I wouldn't be able to see it in person. I'm pretty clueless about furniture in general but I have expensive taste. Pretty much the same way I am with clothes

I would think in a DC vintage shop a nice walnut bench with hairpin legs would sell for more than $350. To have some control over what you get, and a new piece, it seems like pretty good value. I like Nakashima, Wharton Esherick type stuff but obv that's a different stratosphere of price.

They're being auctioned right now in Cassina's stores and chez de Pury. Definitely an investment for a collector.
