Time to buy shoes... to go with likes of APC NS, PBJ 005 and such - AE Leeds? AE McAllister? AE McNeil? Alden shell cordovan? PS Are these really cordovan or just burgundy? http://cgi.ebay.com/ALLEN-EDMONDS-MA...#ht_2530wt_896 EDIT: when I say what jeans I wear, do keep in mind that I stack, so too slim of a shoe won't work either, or am I wrong? EDIT: I want shell cordovan and only shell cordovan

It has to be fairly informal. Generally speaking, smooth and shiny leather does not go well with a casual pant like jeans. Suede makes a good alternative, but it's not the only one.

Would not wear anything Allen Edmonds with jeans... I think something like this would be a good bet though:
ScreenHunter_28%20Apr.%2029%2019.26.gif
http://www.styleflavors.com/paul-smi...de-dress-shoes NDC is also a good one to look for: http://www.matchesfashion.com/pws/im...ftie_bro_1.jpg http://www.matchesfashion.com/fcp/pr...es-BROWN/37809 (suede is not my only suggestion, I just thought these ones looked good, in brown/tan leather they could probably look equally good as long as they are muted.)

Grenson Victor (they are a LOT better looking in person than in the picture)

chiseled toe, Goodyear welted, waxy brown leather that looks fantastic with jeans

Gimmeshoes in the US carries them but they are cheaper to just buy at Pediwear

I think some AE wingtips look good w/ jeans.

For example, here's AE "The Player's Shoe" in a light brown:

Most of the shoes mentioned (AE Leeds, AE MacNeil, Alden LW/PTB in barrie last) are good choices; the McAllister I am less sure about.

My shell cordovan wingtip suggestion for jeans is the C&J/Polo Darlton/Marlow in brown shell cordovan. This is what I wear with straight leg denim.

The AE Leeds is also a good choice. I also wear a black shell cordovan Leeds with straight leg denim.

I think you need a chunky wingtip in order to make it work with denim. I.e. an alden longwing in #8 shell cordovan.

I have black Balmoral Alden wingtips that are my business shoes and because of the slimmer profile, they look silly with straight cut jeans. Maybe with a really tapered leg you could get buy with a slimmer wingtip..

I've been wearing the McClains with jeans because they are a brownish color and pebble grain. Not sure if this is considered acceptable.
