What are some of the best places to shop for loafers - good selection of stylish loafers... not too stuffy / conservative ... a happy medium would be nice.

great quality but young/modern

If you're talking about the ones everyone in Italy is wearing right now and constantly depicted on the Sartorialist, go to Belgian Shoes on 55th, off Park.

why stop there? how about delivery in 2015 while we are at it.. ?

who would order RTW shoes and wait a year? seems silly

How old are you? I thought you were in your mid-20s/early 30s. What are you doing ordering bespoke coats at age 10 and still expecting it to fit now.

This thread reminds me that I need to call Belgian shoes to see if Margery is still working, She is a sweetheart and has always handpicked my shoes to make sure the bows are centered properly.
I have worn Belgians for thirty years. Growing up in Grosse Pointe Farms they were much in evidence. i remember seeing the scion of one of the richest families in America wearing them with a bespoke suit to a church service I have always liked them at least in part for the subtle subversive air they give off.

Given that your SF member name includes the word bespoke ... your lack of patience surprises me.
