My closet is about 3:1 SB to DB. On its way to becoming more like 4:1

No offence, but you look much better in a SB though theoretically you are the perfect candidate for a DB

For my DB SC, I went with a Loro Piana textured fabric in the elusive "lighter than navy" shade of blue.

To put these proportions into context, how many suits do you two have? I take it we are talking about rather substantial wardrobes, are we not?

I have a lot. But I go through phases in which some get worn more than others.

I am getting more conservative business dress and more skittish about frightening the uninitiated so I wearing DB less and less. I don't even have in my head an idea for a new DB, though that could change. If I ever did another it would probably be a navy chalk and it might be my last.

But also have this piece of very light gray linen that I go back and forth on whether it should be DB or SB.

6x2. I think my ratio is around 1:1, though DBs will be rising pretty quickly.

"A lot" would be a fair assessment for me as well.

It's probably been twenty-five years since I've added a single-breasted suit to my wardrobe and probably two decades since I have worn one. I do find it interesting that when this is noted on Fora such as this, members who have known me for quite some time seem to be somewhat surprised. My assumption is that -- in my case at least -- the visual distinction between single and double-breasted fastenings is actually less apparent than is assumed to be the case.

Maybe you were just made for them. Could also be the 'stache.

New SF meme: "You have to be medwards to wear DBs."

Could you post up some pics of said DBs, Medwards?

I wonder if I have them in my SF DB pic cache.

What would be the factors in such a decision? Should the fabric be of some weight in this matter?
