Did amyome else see this? It's a 2008 film about the IRA hunger strikers (though after the first half it becomes more of a Bobby Sands biopic). Maybe the most powerful film about the Troubles. It doesn't seek to glorify or demonize the hunger strikers, and it isn't sensational; none of the "battle scenes" and the like that you get elsewhere. The most intense scene is a dialogue between Sands and a priest.

Worth a watch if you haven't seen it.

I thought this was about a completely different, and much sexier, movie. Sorry.

Yea, I totally thought this would be about vampire lesbians and David Bowie:

Yea, so wtf conne...why are you wasting time talking about the IRA hunger strikers when you could be watching Catherine D go down on Susan Sarandon?

Have seen it. It's pretty good, but not for the weak-stomached (pun intended). The last few scenes when Bobby Sands is... well... dying, are slightly disturbing to watch and imagine actually happening.

Yeah. It's a graphic film, but not in the sense that it is gratuitously violent.

I have not seen this film, but I will now. In fact, I may as well just watch it here at my desk, as I can't stand up any time in the near future anyway.

Yeah me too before I clicked, I thought it was "The Hunger" featuring Susan Sarandon as a bisexual vampire FTW.

I have seen this film however. A good film, though not a pleasant one to watch, that's for sure.
